National Apprenticeship Week is now in its 17th year.
In 2024 the theme of this week is “Skills for Life”. It is an important week in the Training, Learning, and Development calendar as it brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make on individuals, businesses, and to the wider economy.
At Ventrica, we are fully committed to the apprenticeship programme we provide our front-line staff in conjunction with highly respected Southend-on-Sea training provider RM Training. We invest a significant amount of resources each year in our programme which I believe adds skills, confidence, and a broader understanding of the business to our colleagues.
In 2024 we added a fresh Level 5 qualification for senior operational managers to the suite of programmes in place for our front-line agents. This is a significant step because the term apprenticeship can often be associated with young staff just starting their career, however in “Skills for Life” year we want to underline that an apprenticeship can enhance a career at all levels, ages and stages.
Continuing professional development adds so much to our place of work. We want to be an ‘employer of choice’ for all Ventricans and to achieve that we must offer relevant training to boost employee engagement.
We want to contribute both to the development of a skilled and qualified workforce as well as establishing a talent pipeline, ensuring Ventrica has a pool of qualified individuals for future roles.
Our clients benefit greatly from our staff development programme as training directly influences the development of a workforce with the skills needed to meet current and future challenges.
I could go on, but needless to say we are fans of National Apprenticeship Week and hope every organisation considers developing its own programme.
